NICK COOPER BENEFIT MATCH

An OW Past v Present match was played on Sunday 3 July as a Benefit match for Nick who continues to progress after his life threatening accident last October. Nick and Amanda were present for the afternoon which was organised by Chris Mastin (who raised the ‘golden oldie’s X1) and 1st team skipper Ali Raja. Highlights included some trademark big hitting from Greg Jones who made 52 from just 17 balls and 130 not out from Sean Coughlan who hit a 6 from the last ball of the game to tie the scores. OW past made 255-9 from their 35 overs with OW’s present 255-3. Many thanks to all those involved who raised £275 for the ‘Friends of Nick Cooper’ Fund.

OW Past team (12): Chris Mastin, Tim Hird, Doug Burton-Cantley, Ed Parsons, Mike Winson, Greg Jones, Andy (Swoop) Walker, Tom Allen, Rob Targett, Simon Hill. Adam Chmielowski, Ian Walters. There was also a welcome appearance (in the bar) from former OW’s skipper Shehan de Silva. Will this side appear again next season?
